TORNADO SHELTER
Our facility's structure includes a 900 square foot tornado shelter. The perimeter walls are solid grouted reinforced
concrete block with 8” deep pre-stressed concrete ceiling planks. The planks are welded into place at grouted steel
bearing plates. The doors, windows and hardwood meet FEMA tornado standards.
OUTDOOR PLAY EQUIPMENT
Our outdoor play and learning environment resembles a huge backyard with plenty of space for children to explore.
12,000 square feet of fenced playground and two covered areas ensure year round access to outdoor activities.
The play area includes a special aquatic feature similar to what is found at area parks. It also includes various
special elements of playground equipment from Kompan – a highly regarded and innovative designer
and supplier of unique playground equipment.
SECURITY CAMERAS
Every detail of our early childhood learning center has been carefully planned to provide a
safe environment
for young children. Integral safety will be a top priority of the staff at Katie’s Kids Learning Center.
Our building includes a built-in tornado shelter as well as security cameras in all classrooms. We will have one
main entrance that will be staffed everyday from open to close.
